After completing this course you'll understand:

  • Describe the anatomy, embryology, reflexes, and systemic functions of the vagus nerve.
  • Assess vagal tone and recognize changes in autonomic states.
  • Identify and safely approach key vagus nerve access points.
  • Apply lymphatic, fascial, craniosacral, and osteoarticular techniques.
  • Explain Polyvagal Theory, MultiVagal Theory, and other contemporary vagal frameworks.
  • Understand the vagus nerve’s relationship with the Social Engagement System, HPA axis, and gut–brain and heart–brain connections.
  • Recognize common signs, symptoms, and health conditions involving the vagus nerve.
  • Teach practical vagal self-care techniques for patients to use between appointments.
  • Observe and experience changes in vagal tone through supervised treatment exchanges.
