Osteopathic Therapy Treatments
Still Point Modalities
All of these modalities fall under osteopathic therapy treatments. They are legally permitted for incorporation into osteopathic treatments and are applied when indicated during appointments.
01 · Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)
Craniosacral Therapy
The Breath of Life
BCST is rooted in the idea that an inherent healing intelligence or “blueprint” of health flows through the body’s fluids and tissues.
Tidal Rhythms
Practitioners are trained to feel subtle, slow-moving fluid pulses in the body known as “tides” (such as the Cranial Rhythmic Impulse, Mid-Tide, and Long-Tide).
Nervous System Regulation
The therapy prioritizes safety and a “non-doing” presence. By holding a neutral, supportive space, the practitioner encourages your nervous system to drop out of a “fight-or-flight” stress response and into a deep state of rest and regulation.
Resolving Trauma Patterns
When the body experiences physical or emotional trauma, it often encapsulates that stress as “inertia” or tight holding patterns. BCST allows these old patterns to emerge and gently discharge without overwhelming your system.
What to Expect During a Session
- Fully Clothed You remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a padded massage table.
- Light Touch The practitioner places their hands very lightly on specific target areas, commonly your feet, sacrum (lower spine), shoulders, or head.
- Stillness and Silence Sessions are highly meditative and quiet. The practitioner holds a position for several minutes at a time, simply tracking how your internal tissues and fluids reorganize.
- Common Sensations During a session, you might feel deep relaxation, warmth, tingling, gentle digestive shifts, or a dream-like state. It is also completely normal to fall asleep.
- Duration & Frequency A typical session lasts between 45 to 90 minutes. Because it is a cumulative process, practitioners often recommend an initial series of 3 to 6 sessions spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart.
02 · Manual Assessment, Treatment & Home Care
Vagus Nerve Therapy
This involves gentle manual assessment, treatment and home care for the vagus nerve. The treatment intends to support vagal tone and improve systemic body health and function.
The vagus nerve is involved with every system and by improving the vagus nerve tone the patient will experience enhanced sleep, decreased brain fog, improved mental health and a balanced autonomic nervous system.
Improving Vagal Tone
- Enhanced sleep
- Decreased brain fog
- Improved mental health
- A balanced autonomic nervous system
03 · Photobiomodulation (PBM)
Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy (RLT), also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive therapy that uses low-level wavelengths of red and/or near-infrared light to stimulate cellular function and healing.
How It Works
Cellular Energy
The light is absorbed by the mitochondria (the power plants of your cells), which increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), helping cells repair and regenerate more efficiently.
Wavelengths
It typically uses red light (around 630–670 nm) for surface-level skin issues and near-infrared light (around 830–850 nm) to penetrate deeper into muscles, joints, and connective tissues.
Non-Thermal
Unlike ultraviolet (UV) or surgical lasers, proper RLT does not damage skin tissue, burn, or cause tanning.
Common Uses
Skin Health
May boost collagen production, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve texture, and help manage conditions like acne, rosacea, or psoriasis.
Pain & Inflammation
Often used to ease muscle soreness, joint stiffness, and inflammation related to conditions like arthritis.
Wound Healing & Hair Growth
Can accelerate tissue repair and support hair regrowth in individuals with androgenic alopecia.
